Ather Konarc Electric Scooter: Price, Range, Battery and Features
Ather Energy has expanded its electric two-wheeler portfolio with the launch of the Ather Konarc, a scooter designed for everyday commuting, improved ride comfort and practical technology. Built on the company’s new EL platform, the Konarc introduces a metal body, steel unibody chassis, multiple battery options and features designed around Indian road conditions.
Unlike the performance-focused Ather 450 series, the Konarc targets mainstream scooter buyers who want an electric vehicle for daily office travel, shopping and regular city commuting. Its combination of a comfortable riding position, under-seat storage, digital features and extended service intervals makes it an interesting addition to India’s electric scooter market.
The Ather Konarc was launched in August 2026, with an introductory effective ex-showroom price starting at ₹99,999. Here’s a closer look at its price, battery capacity, claimed range, charging technology and features.
Ather Konarc Price in India and Variants
Ather introduced the Konarc with multiple variants under its S and Z product lines. The initial Konarc S lineup includes three battery and range configurations.
The Konarc S 100 is priced at ₹99,999, while the S 125 costs ₹1,21,999. The higher S 161 variant is priced at ₹1,44,999. These are the announced effective ex-showroom Bengaluru prices and may differ from the final on-road cost in other cities.
The Konarc Z variants are positioned as more feature-rich options, with 125km and 161km IDC range categories. Their pricing needs to be checked with Ather as the variants enter the market.
According to Ather’s official information, the S 125 and S 161 are currently available for sale in select cities. The 100km variant is expected in Q4 FY27, while the 200km version is planned around Q3 FY28. The Z variants are expected around Q1 FY28.
Customers should check their nearest Ather Experience Centre for current availability, delivery timelines and city-specific pricing.
Ather Konarc Battery Capacity and Range
Battery capacity and driving range are among the most important factors when choosing an electric scooter. Ather offers different battery configurations in the Konarc S lineup to suit varying commuting requirements.
The S 100 uses a 2.1kWh battery pack and produces 4kW of peak power with 16Nm of torque. It has a claimed IDC range of 100km.
The S 125 gets a 2.7kWh battery, producing 4.7kW of peak power and 16Nm of torque. Its claimed IDC range is 125km.
The S 161 receives the largest currently announced battery option, with a 3.5kWh capacity. It also produces 4.7kW and 16Nm, with a claimed IDC range of 161km.
Ather has also announced a 200km IDC version for a later stage of the product rollout. However, its detailed battery capacity and final specifications should be confirmed when the company announces the variant.
It is important to understand that IDC figures are measured under controlled testing conditions. Real-world range will depend on riding speed, traffic, road quality, rider weight, weather and riding mode. Ather’s published TrueRange estimates for the currently available 125km and 161km variants are approximately 100km and 130km, respectively.
Motor Performance and Riding Experience
The Ather Konarc uses a permanent magnet synchronous motor (PMSM) designed for smooth electric power delivery. Its peak power reaches 4.7kW in the S 125 and S 161 variants, while the S 100 produces 4kW.
The scooter has a claimed top speed of 70kmph across the initial S range. This makes it suitable for everyday urban commuting rather than high-speed performance riding.
One of its major engineering highlights is the new EL platform. Ather says the platform has been developed using approximately 26 lakh kilometres of field data, helping the company understand the requirements of Indian scooter riders.
The platform features a new chassis, powertrain and electronics architecture. Its development also focuses on reducing component complexity and making maintenance and repairs more convenient.
Exterior Design, Metal Body and Suspension
The Konarc introduces a different design direction for Ather. Unlike several scooters that use extensive plastic body panels, it features metal rear-side panels and a steel unibody chassis.
Its styling includes a handlebar-mounted headlamp, wraparound lighting elements, dual-tone finishes and alloy wheels. Available colours include Quartz White, Lumen Copper, Celestial Gold and Majestic Grey, while additional colours are reserved for selected Z variants.
The scooter gets a 14-inch front alloy wheel and a 12-inch rear alloy wheel. Its 1,352mm wheelbase is designed to improve stability, particularly when travelling on uneven roads.
Suspension travel measures 90mm at the front and 100mm at the rear. These longer-travel suspension components are intended to improve comfort over potholes, speed breakers and broken road surfaces.
The combination of a steel chassis, larger front wheel and revised suspension geometry is aimed at making the Konarc comfortable for regular Indian commuting conditions.
Ather Konarc Features and Technology
Technology is another important part of the Konarc’s appeal. The scooter comes with different display configurations depending on the selected variant.
The S 100 receives a 4.2-inch DeepView digital display, while higher S variants get a larger 7-inch display. The Konarc also supports connected features such as ride statistics, scooter location information and charging-status monitoring, depending on the variant and subscription package.
Other practical features include AutoHold, Park Assist Reverse and AirWalk. AutoHold helps keep the scooter stationary when stopped, while Park Assist Reverse uses the motor to assist with reversing.
AirWalk provides motor assistance when the rider manually pushes or pulls the scooter, making it easier to move in tight parking spaces.
The higher Konarc Z variants introduce additional technology. These include Ather’s Advanced Electronic Braking System (AEBS), designed to electronically adjust braking behaviour, and MagicKey, which offers convenient keyless access to the boot. AutoPop is designed to make opening the under-seat storage easier.
Selected Z features also include Google Maps and WhatsApp integration on the dashboard. Feature availability depends on the variant.
Charging Technology and Battery Warranty
The Konarc comes with an integrated 450W onboard charger, allowing owners to connect the scooter directly to a suitable household power socket without carrying a conventional external charging brick.
Ather also offers an additional 450W offboard charger for its Combined Charging feature. Using both charging systems together can reduce home charging time by up to half, according to the company.
The scooter supports fast charging at Ather Grid locations. Ather states that selected Konarc variants can gain up to 15km of range in 10 minutes, with certain versions offering up to 30km in the same period.
Battery protection is another important ownership consideration. Ather’s official warranty information lists a standard battery warranty of three years or 30,000km, whichever comes first. Customers with AtherStack Pro receive an upgrade to five years or 60,000km. Additional extended warranty options of eight years/80,000km and ten years/1,00,000km are available at extra cost, subject to the applicable terms.
Ather also advertises a service interval of 12 months or 10,000km, whichever comes first. This can reduce the frequency of routine workshop visits compared with more frequent service schedules.
Storage and Everyday Practicality
The Konarc offers 31 litres of under-seat storage, which can accommodate everyday belongings and up to two half-face helmets, depending on their size and shape.
It also has a 2-litre front storage compartment with a USB charging facility. An under-seat lamp makes it easier to access stored items in low-light conditions.
These practical features are important for buyers who use their scooters for office commuting, grocery shopping and short daily trips.
The combination of storage capacity, a comfortable seat and long-travel suspension gives the Konarc a practical focus beyond its electric powertrain.
Ather Konarc Rivals in the Indian Market
The Ather Konarc competes in India’s mainstream electric scooter segment, where customers can choose from several established models.
The TVS iQube focuses on family-oriented commuting and practical features. The Bajaj Chetak offers a metal-body design and a premium urban scooter experience, while the TVS Orbiter targets everyday electric mobility.
The Konarc differentiates itself through its steel unibody chassis, 14-inch front wheel, multiple battery options, combined charging system and technology features such as AEBS and MagicKey on selected variants.
The wider shift towards electric mobility is also visible in premium vehicle categories. For example, the changing influence of luxury EVs car choices in Europe reflects how electric powertrains are influencing buying decisions across different vehicle segments. In India, scooters such as the Konarc represent the growing move towards electric mobility at more accessible price points.
Is the Ather Konarc Worth Considering?
The Ather Konarc offers a combination of practical commuting features, multiple battery options and a technology-focused riding experience. Its starting effective price of ₹99,999 makes it an option for buyers exploring electric scooters around the ₹1 lakh mark.
The 125km and 161km IDC variants offer different range choices, while the metal body, steel chassis, 31-litre storage and longer service interval strengthen its everyday appeal.
However, buyers should compare the TrueRange estimates rather than relying entirely on IDC figures. They should also check variant availability, battery warranty conditions, charging access and on-road pricing before making a purchase.
Overall, the Ather Konarc is an interesting addition to India’s electric scooter market, particularly for commuters who prioritise comfort, storage and practical technology.
